The food that I grazed upon the past week can be called calorific. My guess would be that most of us this time of the year chomp through such food. Well, I am going to think that in order to feel less guilty.We are still in Christmas time and that means there’s still time for Christmas to come which means there is more such food coming our way. Therefore I thought I should go easy on the diet and decided to show you a less calorific food. And that would be an Apple Chutney which goes very well as a spread on bread. Also, have you tried gifting food? All that this Apple chutney needs is a pretty glass jar in which you can gift it.Let’s get to it!
What you need
Apples 1 Kg
Onion – 2
Brown sugar – ¼ kg
Ginger – An inches’ worth
Red chili powder – To taste
Garlic – 3 pods
Salt – 1 Teaspoon
Vinegar – 2 tsp
Step 1: Peel, core and cut apples into small pieces.
Step 2: Cut the onions, ginger and garlic very finely.
Step 3: Mix all the ingredients in a pan and cook on a low flame till the sugar melts.
Step 4: Pressure cook (1 whistle).You can also continue to boil the ingredients in the pan until the apples become a thick consistency. Squish the apples with a spoon.
Ste 5: Pack while hot and store in an air tight jar.
