The Popsicle

????????????????????????????????????????1905, Frank Epperson was eleven when one night he happened to leave his soda on his porch with a stir stick in it. That night was a very cold night in San Francisco. Waking up the next day morning Frank found his soda frozen to the stick creating a flavored frozen treat and thus he discovered the Popsicle! It took another 18 years for Frank Epperson to have the “frozen ice on a stick” called the Epsicle patented, which his children rechristened as the Popsicle. What a fun discovery!

I would think that most of us have fun memories of discovering the Popsicle too. Mine are of pouring lime juice into kulfi molds and sticking a stick in it.Then came the wait for them to freeze, the hardest part. But in sometime we had lime Popsicles. I’ve even tried this method with orange juice. The simple joys of being a child! I don’t make Popsicles that way anymore but Popsicles I have not forgotten.

    Hi Fiora,
What a fun fact about popsicle! Who would know that it would have such interesting history.
